Keeping up with the Joneses>> Home >> Past Issues
Oct 1st 2004 Hey fun seekers, David here again. I just came home from a week out with the band. We played a terrific couple of shows. The first was a private engagement in San Diego at this beautiful place, Del Coronado Resort. This happens to be where The Monkees shot the pilot episode. My daughter Sarah, her husband John, and my grandson Harrison all came down to visit. Everyone had a nice time. The beach was great. Our friend Lydia Cornell stopped by the Del too. Lydia was taking a break from working on her new show in Los
Angeles called "FALLING UP". We all met up after the show and had a few lemonades while Lydia's friend Chris entertained us with sleight of hand and card tricks. Chris is either a very good magician or the bar tender uses extra special lemons. But we had a great time! Hey, check out Lydia Cornell.com, she's on to some terrific projects! We had some rare down time before we were off to airports and into Las Vegas where we played at the Silverton Casino. Our old friend Susan Olsen, better known to you as "Cindy Brady" came out to see the show and catch up with everyone. Sarah and John came out with Talia to celebrate her birthday on Saturday and we went to a place called Ghost Bar at The Palms Hotel. Man, what a place, I still can't hear a bloody thing and I can't seem to stop dancing. Then I flew home to shoot a holiday show called "VH1, A Very Classic Thanksgiving" It stars quite the motley lot, Dee Snider from a band called "Twisted Sister", Me, Lisa Lisa, MC Hammer, (just Hammer to his friends), Eddie Money and Terri Nunn from the band "Berlin". It was really fun, kind of like that show "Dinner For Five" but with singers. We had a great time shooting in NYC. Watch for it on VH1 all during Thanksgiving weekend. We'll get some pictures up for you soon. On October 16th we've got a gig at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland California. This one is a benefit for the Children's Hospital of Oakland. It is for a really good cause, so let's all make it a great success!
The day before that, I'll be on the WGN morning show on the WB Chicago channel 9. This means get up early, or just stay home from work, whateva ... you deserve a day off. While you're at it, have a cupa tea and tune into Chicago's WJMK 104.3 later that same morning. I'm headed there after the TV, just to see what they've got going on. I'm tired already. As you can see by this picture, Angelina and I are an item. Angelina had asked to keep the relationship private, however as seen here, we're obviously off to see a movie. Cheers, DJ
