On again off again
December 1st, 2004

It's been all go in-between talking to my sisters, daughters, preparing the little house for the winter (the river flows faster by the day abandoning every other reason but it' own ... bum di bum ... what have I done. I was sorta getting into taking Indiantown for a walk. I had studs put on his shoes ( little lumps of metal on each front and back of the front shoes) so he wont slip on the asphalt ... I'm staring today to walk him (lead reign) let him stretch some tendons and muscles in his body so when he really starts to use everything together ....

Vocal warm-ups, stretching in the morning, a couple of laps in the pool (winter you should share the blame for my misused, weeks, days, months) Not that your doing that last little warm-up in most ports of the country at this time of year ... an actor prepares ....

Actually, I hardly know what I'm going to say when I get on stage. Oakland at the Paramount theater and the Isle of Lockport IL shows went well. The whole weekend was first class. The Robicheau's and myself arrived in the middle of the evening and checked the schedule ... 6:30am Friday 22 Oct limo pick-up bags ready ... first stop ... the light outside the hotel. I hate traffic but as Talia says dad just use it as down time, relax --- ZZZZZ

... ..honk honk, okay okay, keep yer shirt on. We arrived at WGN unloaded the bags ... and had tea. We set up and Dave and I strummed in and out of a couple segments ... .playing "N.Y. City", "When You Tell Me That You Love Me", and finally a rousing chorus of "Daydream Believer" ... to the delight and enjoyment of all (Stick with the old'ens son you'll get em every time. Harry Jones)

Thinking that was it ... not to be ... we were ushered over to the news desk to do the Monkee walk with three of the news cast. I say cast because they put on the most entertaining, spontaneous, comical uninhibited show that I've experienced in ages. We chatted, talked, discussed, preached and entertained. My kind of people personable from the front door to the emergency exit ... Load the limo.

Here we are as we had a little time Dave, Deb and I sat, chatted recharging. Laughed ... lots of laughing and it's only 9:30am. Heads down we were going in ... WJMK Chicago ... turned out to be a most enjoyable gathering. We signed a couple of albums, left T-shirts and CD's, books and a little bit of laughter and a rendition of "The Greatest Story Ever Told" ... the first public performance ... Dave played, I sang ... we were brave as we had never performed the song before.

Chicago has always been warm and friendly from my first appearance in Oliver in 1965, Pickwick & Oliver 1973(?) And Grease 1994.

We made our way to an early night and a 6:00am wake up call. The book signing came next at Harrison's restaurant. Nice place, nice people. Great big thanks to Kathy!

Show time 7:00pm. We made our way to the gig ... nice reception ... almost a 2 hour show, can you stand it!

It's always a big disappointment for me to drive off without a thank you ... wave.. A thanks for coming but I can't sign everyone's prayer book it's impossible ... so those of you for me thanks. We had a 50 person meet and greet (after the show niceties) sponsor's, VIP's.

We made our ways to the airport ... home early evening .... I must say that with the European trips many flights unpack, pack, rest & recover, sleep ... Deep Breaths!

T.E. Jones and Jessie Jones have been in Florida a month today Sunday November 28th. Jessie is a little bit backward however should be ready by mid December the same with TE Jones ... maybe save her for Gulf stream ... late December, Tampa for Jessie.

Anyway, until we talk again. I'm going to be up to my neck for a couple of weeks. Catch you next time.

We all here .....DJ
