Davy Jones working out

Now talk about buff-
Bring em on, bring em on-
I never remember working out with a schedule-
motor bikes-swimming pools-youth-
so this little blast from the past shows
the me from behind the blue and white beads
and the Tiger Beat covers-
I've discovered that as I get older
I need to cut down my food intake
walk, cycle, ride-
movement, moderation- it's the key to my future health.

This picture was sent out to family and friends over
the New Year.

Davy Jones on Bay to Stay

The horses name is 'Bay To Stay'
He didn't, and was taken at the New Market Race Track in England.

Just a little history sharing...

Woodley is a little town-
Woodly is where my mum and dad took us by train
every sunday to play in the woods- pick blue bells
and play cricket (Woodley Cricket Club)

My mother umpired a game of cricket and
called my father out - Leg before Wicket-
He protested, but her decision once again, stood.

My father was a worker at the british railways and
was given passes for the train which the whole family
enjoyed through the mid to late 50s.

My sister competed in sports day- looking pretty impressive
in the 100 yards races and others- we were allowed one soda-
mine was Ginger Beer-

Gerald, my cousin, would wave us goodbye at Gorton and Openshaw
railway station, and meet us at Woodley station. Now I know how he did it.
It's only about 15 miles away from the old house-
Three stops on the train (very local) gave Gerald the edge even by bicycle-
This photo and letter give a little more insight.

David,

Good to Talk to-day. Enclosed is Woodley C.C. team photo,
promoted this year to division one of the Cheshire Derbyshire league.
They were founded in 1924, and this year was there 1st trophy win since 1944.
It's strange isn't it, we all went there as kids. I used to race the train on my bike.
Still do.
Auntie Betty was crowned British Rail Rose Queen in about 1930-35
My Dad played cricket there, I have played there,
and now our Stephen is keeping the Jones flag flying.

A Tribute to Lonnie
Who will be sadly missed...

Lonnie ...

Lonnie worked maintanence on helicopters — he fixed cars and built sheds.
His stunning voice tones never used to fulfill his idea of a career in radio broadcast
I sat many an evening with Lonnie in the Florida sunshine solving problems —
looking for an answer and sipping his favorite beer —

Goodbye Lonnie-

DJ
