Keeping up with the JonesesApril 2008
"It goes fast son, it goes real fast." Time flies as the house scullery maid said when she threw the alarm clock out of the window, and it got swallowed up by a goose that was flying south for winter — I have a beautiful new granddaughter , Lauren D McFadden. A backstage pass for anyone who comes up with the D factor. What does the D stand for….concert of your choice. I'd choose bloody Disney if I were you. I can't even remember what happened since I talked to you last. All I know is, it is March and my mother's birthday., March 1st has past. She would have been 99. The beach in Florida is a welcome change from hotel life, airplanes and the constant noise that surrounds my life. April 25th, Indiantown Coalition dinner dance and raffle, Indian River Community Center- Floridians come one and all. A different kind of evening. We cruised on Costa with Bill Medley, Paul Revere and the Lovin Spoonful. We boarded on Saturday, January 19th and I worked the following Friday. I guess I was on last because I stood the best chance of survival. Jokes, songs and 60 people from the complex where I live in Florida. Wow. High neighbor was never so pertinent- All aboard for next years event? ... me sir, me! I love Paul Revere and hadn't heard the Spoonful for years. And the legendary Bill Medley- a very sweet, kind man whom I admire greatly. His son sang with Paul Revere, and very well I might add. Handsome bugger too. Chris Andrews, my dear friend of 45 years shared the stage with me over Christmas as we appeared in Aladdin with this years Gold Coast Theater show playing at the Colony in South Beach, The Kravitz Center, West Palm and Ft Lauderdale Theater for the Performing Arts. Chris and I are 3/4 through with my next album. We are still working on a new musical adapted from a book. My children, … Annabel Jones - Lady and the Lost Boys on Myspace Talia Jones - designs and landscapes in Santa Barbara Jessica Jones - another space improvement gal, combining coats of many colors to her real estate ventures, as well as mothering Phoenix, a very outgoing grandson who loves school, music and charms the socks off everyone with just a smile. Sarah mothers Harrison and Lauren with such kindness and open heartedness - it's a joy. Inspirations and understanding are the specials everyday. I was at the community pool the other day and a rather uninformed man, late 60's, had an audience of 3 women. I listened on while he told them, to only his belief, that women were followers, not leaders ... "How could a woman run the armed forces / lead a country / after all the good book clearly states women were made from the rib of Adam / they are inferior to men / second in line …. Who wrote this I ask you, it must have been a man." Poor, poor misinformed man. He actually goes to sleep believing this. Don't you just want to slap people sometimes? If I were king, 100 push ups a slap with a piece of wet lettuce. My horses were in Kentucky for the summer as well as four in PA. Jessie Jones (the horse) is going to stud, Indiantown will be the dad. He is a prince and deserves to pass his ___ to such a beautiful mare.
