A Winner!
T.E. Jones, Davy's prized thoroughbred horse, named for his daughter Talia, came in First Place at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, April 18th 2004. Davy and the band were performing in Orlando at the EPCOT Flower Power Festival when they received the news. Davy had every confidence that T.E. would triumph and she did not disappoint! T.E. Jones was jockeyed by Hernan Parra.
Update on Talia's Marathon Talia finished the Marathon in 4 hours and 32 minutes! The race was in Hawaii, and Davy surprised Talia by traveling to Hawaii to watch her compete! Talia was thrilled to have her Dad on hand, and gave Davy her finisher's medal from the race! Thanks to everyone who helped sponsor Talia by sending in a contribution to the National Aids Marathon. |
Indiantown wins again!Indiantown Jones, Davy's 6 year old Gelding, took first place at Delaware Park Wednesday, August 31st to end the mid summer races with a bang for Davy! He ran in Race #7 for one and one-eighth miles on turf. Indiantown was trained by Victor Simone and Jockeyed by Kendrick Carmouche. FIRST PLACE! David's beloved thoroughbred Indiantown Jones, a 17-hand-tall bay gelding, won First Place on Saturday, June 4th 2005 at Indiana Downs Race track while Davy watched proudly from the owners' area near the track. Indiantown Jones didn't just eek by, he won by 13 lengths! Indiantown's number was 6 and was jockeyed to the finish line by Rodney A. Prescott. The winning time was 1:46.2 with a Distance of One And One Sixteenth Miles. GO INDIANTOWN! INDIANTOWN JONES raced four wide into the first turn, remained four wide into the far turn, fanned into mid-track for the drive then drew off and was much the best.
