DAVY JONES ESTATE RE-RELEASES FIRST AUTOBIOGRAPHY
FROM THE POPULAR GLOBAL ENTERTAINER
NASHVILLE – The Estate of Davy Jones has announced that his first autobiography, They Made a Monkee Out of Me, is now available for the first time as an eBook from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online distributors.
The first of two autobiographies that Jones wrote – or as he liked to put it “ought to buy-ographies!” – tells his story up to 1987 when the singing and TV sensation, The Monkees, were touring again and performing to sell-out stadiums around the U.S.
The book was first published in that year and it is filled with photos from Jones’ personal collection, copies of documents that offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the history of the group, family stories, and more.
“His stories and personality jump off the pages,” said his eldest daughter, Talia Jones Roston. “If you ever went to one of Davy’s shows, almost everyone in the audience came away feeling he had performed just for them. The book is the same; it is a heart-on-your-sleeve, Davy Jones experience!”
The Estate of David T. Jones has also reprinted the hard copy of the autobiography and it is available from all major distributors as well as the publisher, A Books Mind.
Jones, who passed away unexpectedly on February 29th, 2012, left a legion of fans around the world. His career spanned fifty years covering TV television and Broadway – where he earned a Tony nomination as a singer, and is most known for his role in The Monkees.
Other exciting news is the newly revamped davyjones.net website and a full range of new merchandise, which will be launched early in 2015.
